Peruvian Cocoa Butter – Origin
Our cocoa butter comes from selected cocoa-growing regions of Huánuco, San Martín, Ucayali and Tingo María in the Peruvian jungle. It is produced in cooperation with a local cooperative that works with more than 400 smallholder farmers and purchases exclusively certified organic cocoa beans.
The cooperative pays a premium for Peruvian origin and organic quality, ensuring fair conditions for farmers and sustainable cultivation practices.
The beans used for our cocoa butter include Criollo, Trinitario, and more than 20 traditional (“vintage”) Peruvian varieties native to the Amazon region. This exceptional genetic diversity gives the cocoa its distinctive aromatic profile.
The beans are gently roasted at temperatures of up to 130°C to preserve the characteristic Peruvian fruity notes while developing a balanced chocolate aroma.
