Reishi, or Ganoderma lucidum. One of the vital mushrooms of traditional Chinese medicine.According to Chinese medicine, it nourishes the heart and blood, strengthens the kidneys, and stops coughing and shortness of breath. It also improves vitality and resistance to external influences.
Ganoderma lucidum is a mushroom of the order Ganodermales, family Ganodermataceae. The organism is a phytopathogenic parasite and saprophytic species. The fruiting body is inedible and grows on the trunks or stumps of deciduous trees from May to October. It is found in the Czech Republic.
